Took some time off from soccer, been hitting NHL unders and March Madness and doing decent at it. Big matchups in EPL tomorrow. Going to try to get back on track, I have been on a slump lately. No more big bets for me for a while. Ok, here we go. Tread carefully:
Man United/Liverpool under 2.5, -156 (3 units)
The last time a Man United/Liverpool game hit 3 goals was way back on September 20, 2004. Man United/Liverpool games are usually played very conservatively and defensively. Man United are extremely stingy in giving up goals at old trafford, but they have had a bit of difficulty finding the back of the net themselves, getting only 1 against piss poor Derby, and 2 against Bolton on Wednsday. Van Der Sar is questionable, but both Kuszcak and Foster are very good backups. I think we are going to see a 1/0 or 1/1 game in this one. Liverpool are coming on strong as of late, so picking a side is not where I am going to go here, I'll stick to the under.
Arsenal/Chelsea over 2 and 2.5, +117 (2 units)
Recent trends suggest this game will be low scoring, but this year I think it's going to be a different scenario. This game is huge for both teams. Both Chelsea and Arsenal (but especially Chelsea) need to win to stay in contention of the EPL title. I think the first goal is going to blow this game wide open. If either Chelsea or Arsenal get down, they are going to have to open up and take chances. Chelsea have been an attacking machine with both Drogba and Anelka up front, but they have plenty of holes in their defence. Arsenal is better on the back end, but they also have a scoring threat, and with a questionable Chelsea defence, they should be able to capitalize. I'm banking that both teams are coming into this game knowing they need all 3 points, and a draw will do them no good, especially if Man United are able to beat Liverpool SU to take an even bigger lead in the EPL standings.
